Purpose of the Association
In accordance with its statutes, the association pursues in particular the following purposes: the integration and inclusion of migrants into society through personal support and intensive mentoring; organising academic events, seminars and lectures on important social topics, including in cooperation with municipal and state institutions; and cooperation with other organisations and integration, cultural, social, sports and education associations through joint projects at home and abroad.
A further focus is on extracurricular support and care for children and young people living in economically disadvantaged and socially challenging circumstances, as well as educating young people about substance abuse, violence, fundamentalism, radicalism and racism, in cooperation with other institutions active in this field. The association establishes language and integration courses, especially for migrants and refugees, offers tutoring for pupils, apprentices and students, and maintains an active exchange with schools and parents of young people.
The association also organises regular art and music courses, day trips and city excursions for cultural education, as well as multi-day exam preparation courses at youth hostels and school retreat centres led by experienced mentors. It awards scholarships to financially disadvantaged pupils and students, organises sports and leisure activities and community festivals, and provides work and seminar rooms for project work in line with its statutory purpose.
Finally, the association holds regular public meetings (tea evenings), offered weekly to children, young people and adults grouped by social and age group as well as by local proximity. Current social topics, particularly regarding general upbringing and education, are conveyed by experienced parents, educational counsellors, social workers and youth mentors.
